As someone who spends a lot of time driving, I was curious about the impact on my overall level of stress. How might improved awareness and understanding of environmental triggers be used to improve navigation routes and safety? CalmRoad leverages the heart rate monitor on Apple Watch to record and visualize location and heart rate data, allowing individuals to learn more about the factors that contribute to stress while behind the wheel.
Since this was my first project using the Apple Watch, I dove deep into Apple's Human Interface guidelines to better understand best practices and limitations. While the iOS app enabled users to view their driving history and data, the Watch focused on glanceable information that wouldn't be distracting behind the wheel.
